Pre Season Opener Event

Let's kick off the season with a great weekend down at the beautiful Jetsurf Orlando.

March 22nd-24th, 9 am - 5 pm
This will be more of a training/community event that it will be racing. Format will most likely be 30 min intervals for beginners/advanced riders to keep everyone safe on track. Free riding off track will be allowed anytime. We will have some mock races throughout the days for anyone that wants to try, groups will be decided upon then.

Price is $125 for the entire weekend, Friday-Sunday, that includes your rider fee, gas, waiver, and a free t shirt.

If someone just shows up for 1 day it is $65 for rider fee and gas. You can just show up.

We have rental boards available for around $120 per hour but will be on a first come first serve basis.

Riders must wear a life jacket and helmet at all times on the water. Neck protector and leash are recommended.

There are outlets on site for charging boards, tables for picnics, outdoor showers, and portable bathrooms outside. 10-15 minutes away from multiple food options if you need to go grab lunch close by.

We are sponsoring and will be at the next Cars & Coffee Central Florida. This is a monthly event from 9 AM – 12 PM open to all Makes and Models held at Drive Shack Orlando.  This is not only for the hardcore car enthusiasts but for the community to come and enjoy the large variety of cars on display.  At Cars & Coffee Central Florida you will see everything from rare race cars to new cars being released.  There is always something cool and different that shows up, you just never know what it will be.  Come hang out with your friends or network with like minded individuals.

Cars & Coffee Central Florida is a proud partner of Nemours Children’s Hospital.  Each month we raise donations to help children in need.  In 2022 over $31k was raised for Nemours.

The occasion? A thrilling community day that featured the latest trend in aquatic excitement: JetSurf boards. Making waves with JetSurf boards was a weekend highlight! JetSurfing is a relatively new water sport that combines the thrill of surfing with the power of motorized propulsion and  has been steadily gaining popularity among water lovers. The Clermont Watersports Complex recognized this growing trend and decided to celebrate it in style with a community day that would introduce both seasoned riders and newcomers to the exhilarating world of JetSurfing.

From novices to pros, inclusive fun for all! One of the standout features of the community day was its inclusivity. Whether you were a seasoned JetSurfing professional or a curious beginner, the event catered to all skill levels. Certified instructors were on hand to guide newcomers through the basics of JetSurfing, ensuring that everyone felt comfortable and confident as they hopped on their boards for the first time.

For those more experienced riders, the event provided an opportunity to showcase their skills, exchange tips, and engage in friendly competition out on the water. This mix of expertise created an atmosphere of collaboration and mutual encouragement that perfectly encapsulated the essence of community.

While JetSurfing was undoubtedly the star of the show, the community day had much more to offer. Attendees were treated to an array of activities both on and off the water, there was no shortage of ways to unwind and connect with fellow attendees. The complex's picturesque surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for forging new friendships and rekindling old ones.

Jet Surfing 101: Anyone can do it!

ORLANDO, Fla. — Spend your weekends at Clermont Watersports Complex learning to stand up on a device that looks like a surfboard but moves like a jet ski. 

These are not your typical hang ten, type of boards you would find along the ocean.

Jet surf boards are mainly electric (some gas powered) and they use a built in engine and battery to push riders effortlessly across the water.

Casey Griffin has been teaching riders how to stand up safely at Orlando Jet Surf Academy since 2018.

“My favorite thing about teaching is when people get it. You know, they come back with smiles on their face, and they have an experience unlike anything they have done before,” he said.

The Jet Surf Academy, at the Clermont Watersports Complex, will take you out into the country and away from everything — feeling like you’re in another world.

But the facility has everything you need once you arrive, including a private lake, safety equipment and a beautiful beach area for instruction.

“To start, you’re always going to start on your stomach. This is also your kill switch. Just like a jet ski,” Griffin said.

Griffin spends as much time as needed with each guest to teach them how to operate the board, which has a wired throttle that the rider controls while jetting across the water.

“Once you have that ah ha moment, everything clicks and comes together. Your progression is very fast on this board,” he said.

Griffin admits it can be tricky for any rider to stand up their very first time.

But he says the sport attracts all ages.

“We have ten-year-olds riding right now, and we have William out here today. He’s 63-years-old. Everyone and anyone can do it.”

Griffin, who is an experienced wakeboarder, says jet surfing is a combination of other sports.

“They put 100cc engine in the middle. So, it’s kind of a cross between surfing and stand-up jet skiing. Really, a snowboard feel when you get up and ride,” he said.

Pricing starts at $149 per person, per hour and includes instruction and safety gear.

The academy is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

A stepping stone for athletes, the Thigh High Surf + Wake Series is perfect for first-time, novice competitors and local lake legends alike. With a variety of divisions for all ages, all grassroots riders can enter a category tailored to their riding abilities. The three-stop grassroots wakesurf + wakeboard contest series is committed to bringing together, growing and sustaining the Central Florida wake community. Presented by Nautiques of Orlando, the goal of the series is to identify local novice + established surfers and wakeboarders in the region and give them a platform to show off their skills and build confidence in competitions.

GENERAL ADMISSION FEE: There is none! It’s completely free to hang out, catch the wake action and enjoy our off-water fun.

HOW TO COMPETE: Please see our athlete info page for information about entering the competition.

FOOD & DRINK: At Stop 1, we’ll have a couple food trucks available. Complimentary water will also be available at athlete check-in and the Basta Boatlifts tent.

BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair): We’re hanging out at the lake with awesome people, so bring some chairs, outdoor blankets, towels and a tent for shade. We will also have a few shaded areas for spectators to hang out.

Home of Jetsurf Orlando, enjoy two days of wake fun on their unique private lake. The event site is easiest to access from 429 to Schofield Road. Give yourself more time to arrive for athlete check-in – Southern Hills Farms (a nearby strawberry, sunflower and blueberry farm) is nearby and often has increased traffic flow in the mornings. Further, the last 8-10 minutes of the drive on Schofield and Cook roads are on compacted sand – two-wheel drive vehicles will make it to the event site okay, but you may find yourself driving slower. Just keep following our signage, and you’ll make it.

Are you the one? JETSURF USA, the official distributor of the world’s fastest motorized surfboards, is looking for 10 lucky individuals to join the JETSURF USA Junior Racing Team and compete in the upcoming season of the MotoSurf Games.

Junior JETSURF racer is a program or competition that is designed for young riders who are interested in competitive racing using JetSurf boards. Daytona Free Ride Event

We were so excited to be a sponsor of this year’s Daytona Freeride! The crowd watched competitors from around the world perform and compete at the Hard Rock Hotel in Daytona from January 12th through the 15th. There were awesome competitions, parties, DJs, drinks, and food. After the weekend event, a good group of the competitors and their families came over to our watersports complex to learn more about JetSurfing and to practice on our race course. Open for Business!

It’s been a fun month as we got back into the swing of things since being closed for almost a year. Our staff has had time to rest up, regroup, and reopen with a bang!

As you know the JetSurf Academy is always a hit with our race course on site. Now its all new with a new record to beat. Do you have what it takes to have your name on the record board?

In other news, we are building new shelter to better suit the complex including a new conex for new riders to sign up and sign waivers, we will have more apparel in stock soon in that building as well. A small pavilion is in the works and in the next 2 years, we’ll have a big pavilion for big parties, and a new seawall with a new Nautique boat for wakeboarding and wakesurfing.

The beach has been modified to handle a bigger crowd as well as chairs and hammocks have been cleaned and repainted this year.
